The Challenge
We need to complete some acquisitions to grow the business and fend off competition, but there is a lack of well-defined process, beyond financials, to evaluate acquisition candidates. We don't seem to agree on our core values and approaches to business which is creating internal conflicts. When we have completed acquisitions, there is an inaccurate evaluation of the managerial depth in the acquired company. We don't get it right when trying to merge the different organizational cultures. This leads to identified business goals for the merger being unrealized and disagreements on approaches to performance management and reward systems.
